I’m a 40-something husband and father of two young daughters. I’ve always had a love for sneakers but only in the past several years have I been able to start buying pairs and building up a collection. In addition to reading well known sneaker blogs daily, Instagram quickly became a way for me to learn more about what is out there. At my age there are very few of my peers who share in my hobby, so IG is a venue for me to interact and post my latest pickups.
I was around when most of the hot retro pairs released. The first Air Jordan released when I was in 6th grade. The Air Max 1, Air Max 90 and many of the hot New Balance, Asics, Reebok and Saucony retros were what we wore for cross country, track and basketball in middle and high school. During my college years I wore Air Max 95, Air Max 96 and Air Jordan 9s. Never thought back then that I’d be buying the same pairs again but then paying more attention to the brands I ignored back in the day. Today I’m partial to Reebok, New Balance, Asics and Saucony runners. For now.
By day I’m a partner in a boutique design firm and my job often allows me to travel internationally where I’ve been lucky enough to experience sneaker culture around the world. If I’m not spending time with my family, working or doing something sneaker related, I’m probably sleeping.
